West Mercia Police is looking for volunteers who can give a few hours on Thursday evenings to help teenagers build confidence, communication and leadership skills through its cadet programme.
Volunteer Cadet Programme Leaders are being recruited for units including Hindlip, Redditch, Malinsgate and Ledbury, covering communities across Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Telford and Wrekin.
The role involves helping cadets learn about policing and the law, but it also goes much wider than that. Volunteers support team-building activities, community events and charity work while helping young people develop and teamwork.
training is provided and successful applicants go through vetting and DBS checks. The closing date is 18 September. For adults who enjoy working with young people, it is a practical way to give a couple of hours a week and potentially leave somebody with skills they carry for years.
