Community groups in part of Mid Suffolk have a fresh chance to secure funding for local projects, with the Progress Power Community Benefit Fund reopening for its autumn round.

The fund is open to organisations working in Eye, Mellis, Thrandeston, Yaxley and Brome & Oakley. Grants of between £250 and £10,000 are available for capital or revenue projects that can show a broad community benefit and are inclusive.

applicants include charities, village halls, voluntary and community groups, parish councils and sports clubs. Mid Suffolk District Council says projects should clearly local need and community , while applicants are also expected to explain how their work will be sustained beyond the period.

The current application window opened on 1 September and closes on 31 October 2026. Applications are assessed by council officers before going to a grant panel made up of local representatives.

The fund was established as part of the development of the Progress Power Station at Brome Industrial Park. For groups in the eligible parishes, it offers a practical route to fund improvements, activities and services that might otherwise struggle to get off the ground.

Full guidance and application information are available from Mid Suffolk District Council.
