Community organisations across England are set to receive new backing for work that helps people avoid homelessness, access day-to-day support and rebuild stability after moving into settled housing.

The Ending Homelessness in Communities Fund has £41 million in and £6 million in capital funding for 2026 to 2029, subject to final agreements.

The programme is aimed particularly at small and medium-sized voluntary, community and faith organisations. These groups often provide the practical support around housing that larger services cannot deliver alone, from somewhere safe to go during the day to help rebuilding routines and connections after a move into permanent accommodation.

The funding is designed around three broad areas: preventing homelessness through community support, providing effective day services, and helping people sustain recovery and independence once they have a home.

For local organisations, multi-year support can also mean more certainty. That matters when services rely on trusted staff, volunteers and relationships that take time to build.
