A hospice charity serving Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire is asking supporters to do something reassuringly uncomplicated this October: put the kettle on.

Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care’s Time for Tea campaign invites people to organise coffee mornings, tea parties and workplace get-togethers throughout the month, with money raised supporting local palliative and bereavement care.

The campaign coincides with Hospice Care Week from 5 to 11 October, but events can take place at any point during the month. Hosts can make them as small as a few friends around a table or turn them into larger community or workplace gatherings.

It is fundraising stripped back to its most British components: tea, cake and somebody saying they will definitely only have a small slice before immediately accepting another one.
