Bradford fundraiser Nazim Ali has passed £1.6 million raised for charity over 14 years after his latest 10K challenge brought in more than £6,365 for families in Malawi.

The Blackpool 10K fundraiser raised enough to provide 159 live goats through Green Crescent Aid UK. Each animal can provide milk, nutrition and livestock that can breed, creating an of food and income.

Ali pays his own race fees and travel costs so donations can go directly to the appeal. His connection with Malawi dates back to a self-funded visit in 2019, while closer to home also runs a community kitchen supporting homeless and people in Bradford.

His latest finish was less elegant than the fundraising total: he tripped during a final sprint and crossed the line bruised and exhausted. The goats, thankfully, will not care about the style points.
