Twenty-three low-carbon homes for social rent are being built at Killingbeck Bridge in East Leeds, adding a mix of one, two and three-bedroom properties to the city’s supply.
The scheme is being developed by Cubed Group with Connect Housing and is due for completion in autumn 2027.
The homes are designed to be energy efficient as well as affordable, helping reduce both the carbon footprint of the development and the amount residents may need to spend heating their homes.
The project is being part-funded through Homes England’s Social and Affordable Homes Programme. In a city where demand for secure, genuinely affordable housing remains high, 23 homes is not a complete answer, but it is 23 more households with the prospect of a stable social-rent tenancy.
