One of the UK’s longest-running literary festivals is returning to Sheffield for its 35th edition with more than 50 live and online events.
Off the Shelf Festival of Words runs from 28 September to 25 October and brings writers, broadcasters, artists and sports figures to venues across the city.
The programme includes Lee Child, Marina Hyde, Chris Chibnall, Lucy Porter and Sir Bradley Wiggins alongside local and emerging voices.
Thirty-five years is long enough for a festival to become part of a city’s furniture. Off the Shelf has managed the more useful trick of remaining furniture people still want to sit on.
