More than £325,000 has been awarded to cancer and innovation projects across Humber and North Yorkshire, backing local teams working on ways to improve , and patient experience.

Humber and North Yorkshire Cancer Alliance announced the winners of its 2026/27 Cancer Research and Innovation Awards this week.

The programme is designed to put relatively small pots of funding directly behind ideas developed by people working in cancer services, research, universities and community organisations. Previous rounds have supported projects involving earlier diagnosis, , screening and ways to make care less disruptive for patients.

The latest investment continues that approach: test promising ideas locally, gather and give successful projects a chance to influence wider cancer care across the region.
