A team from Hull Trains has turned the railway route it normally works into a fundraising challenge, walking from Hull to London King’s Cross and raising nearly £6,000 for a local brain injury charity.

The colleagues completed the journey in memory of former colleague Garry Varney, travelling on foot through places including Selby, Doncaster and Retford before reaching the capital. The money is going to P.A.U.L For Brain Recovery, a Hull-based charity supporting people affected by acquired brain injury.

The charity was chosen because of the support it gave Garry. The fundraiser remains open, while P.A.U.L For Brain Recovery founder Paul Spence is also due to discuss the charity’s work on Hull Trains’ Moving Minds podcast.
