People for a free NHS flu vaccination across Cheshire and Merseyside can already book ahead for the autumn programme.
The national booking system opened in August, with appointments from 1 September for pregnant women and from 1 October for most eligible adults. The free offer includes people aged 65 and over, adults with certain long-term health conditions, carers and care-home residents.
Most school-age children will be offered vaccination through school, while community clinics and the Living Well service provide additional routes locally.
It is a early start to winter preparation. Flu is ordinary enough to be underestimated, but vaccination remains one of the simplest tools for preventing serious illness before colder months arrive.
