Three new projects shaped with local communities are testing how could help cities make healthier and fairer decisions.
The AI4URBAN-HEALTH programme brought residents, , councils, industry and charities together in London and Bradford before choosing the projects. One will map hidden gaps in Bradford health records, another will combine resident experiences with data to improve decisions affecting people in temporary accommodation, and a third will street redesigns before councils build them.
The projects run until spring 2027. The interesting bit is not simply the label, but the order of operations: communities helped identify the problems first, and the technology is being built around those priorities rather than searching for a problem afterwards.
