Age UK Cheshire is looking for volunteers prepared to place their feet where sensible people would normally put a barbecue.
The charity is holding a fundraising firewalk in Northwich on Thursday 1 October, inviting supporters to cross hot coals to raise money for services for older people across Cheshire.
Age UK Cheshire is an local charity providing services including information and advice, dementia support, befriending, help at home, independent-living support and activities intended to reduce isolation.
The firewalk forms part of the charity’s 2026 fundraising programme, alongside events including the Big Knit and community activities throughout the year.
There are easier ways to support a charity, admittedly. But for anyone who has ever wanted their fundraising challenge to come with the phrase “please follow the safety briefing carefully”, Northwich has an unusually warm invitation.
