Patients at University College London Hospitals have rated their overall care 8.7 out of 10 in the latest National Adult Inpatient Survey.
The result places UCLH second among London's general acute hospital trusts and fifth nationally among general acute trusts.
Patient surveys capture parts of healthcare that activity figures alone cannot show, including communication, confidence in staff and how people experience care while they are in hospital.
The results offer a strong signal from patients themselves about the quality of their stay, while giving the trust detailed feedback it can use to identify where care can improve further.
