A 1,300km bike ride across England has been used to connect 18 pension-fund areas with charities and community projects along the route.
Ewan McCulloch of Border to Coast Pensions began the ten-day Tour de Partnership at Carlisle Castle, travelling south through each partner fund area with more than 9,900 metres of climbing.
Local pension teams attached their own causes to the challenge, including children’s charities and the Watchtree Nature Reserve project in Cumbria. A corporate partnership could have been marked with a conference and some biscuits. Somebody instead chose 1,300 kilometres of hills, which has certainly made it harder to ignore.
