Sir Chris Hoy’s Tour de 4 is returning to Glasgow with a broad invitation: you do not need to be an Olympic cyclist, or even particularly close, to take part.

The charity event starts and finishes at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome on Sunday 6 September and offers four different ways to join in, including road routes, a family ride and static-bike challenges.

Hoy created Tour de 4 after his stage 4 prostate cancer to challenge assumptions about living with advanced cancer while raising money for cancer charities and . The first event in 2025 raised more than £3 million.

ScottishPower is supporting this year’s event as part of its long-running with Cancer Research UK. The company says that partnership has raised more than £45 million to date.

The central idea is refreshingly simple: make a major fundraising event flexible enough that families, casual riders, experienced cyclists and people who cannot tackle a road route can all contribute.
