Brighton & Hove Albion and the University of Sussex are formalising a relationship that has already lasted more than 30 years through a new higher-education .

The university has become the club’s official Partner, with plans covering opportunities for students and staff, collaboration, recruitment and community projects across Brighton and Sussex.

The two organisations have previously worked together on initiatives including the Play with Pride football tournament, which brought clubs and community groups together around LGBTQ+ inclusion.

A football club and a university do rather different things most days, which is exactly why the partnership has potential. One has students, and specialist knowledge; the other has , facilities and a very large community audience. Joining those dots is more interesting than another logo on an advertising board.
