Belfast Culture Night returns with more than 200 free events across the city

Culture Night Belfast returns on 18 September with more than 200 free, family-friendly events, quiet spaces and activities across venues from City Hall to the Oh Yeah Centre.

Belfast is preparing to turn the city into one enormous free cultural programme when Culture Night returns on Friday 18 September.

More than 200 family-friendly events are planned between 4pm and 10pm, ranging from busking and poetry to street art, open studios, performances and a wrestling corner at Belfast Grand Central Station. City Hall, the Ulster Hall, The MAC, 2 Royal Avenue and the Oh Yeah Centre are among the venues taking part.

The programme was shaped through an open call with artists and creative organisations. Quiet spaces will be available at 2 Royal Avenue and The MAC, while accessibility information is being published for participating venues.

There is something pleasingly democratic about a city spending an evening making culture difficult to avoid. You can plan a route through the programme, or simply walk into town and discover that somebody has turned an ordinary corner into a stage.
