Belfast’s free Autumn Fair returns with flowers, food, music and a 40th birthday for bonsai

Belfast’s free Autumn Fair returns to Botanic Gardens on 12 and 13 September with family entertainment, heritage tours, workshops and floral displays.

Belfast’s Botanic Gardens will host two free days of flowers, food, music, workshops and family entertainment when the city’s Autumn Fair returns in September.

The event runs from 12.30pm to 5.30pm on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September and includes the annual Autumn Flower Show, giant seasonal vegetables, arts and crafts and local food stalls.

The Northern Ireland Bonsai Society is marking its 40th anniversary with demonstrations and advice, while European Open Days will add free historical tours of the gardens and glasshouses.

There will also be -living activities, painting workshops and live music. It is one of those rare city-centre weekends where a family can arrive with no ticket, wander for hours and still come away feeling they have actually done something.
