Fifteen organisations have been awarded support from a UK fund designed to help communities understand and access the Windrush schemes.

Fifteen charity, community and organisations have been awarded funding to help people understand and access the UK’s Windrush schemes.

The 2026 to 2027 Community Fund provides up to £150,000 of support. Projects will focus on raising awareness of the Windrush Status Scheme and Windrush Compensation Scheme, addressing and understanding why people may not be applying.

The work puts trusted community organisations closer to the centre of outreach. Rather than relying only on national messaging, the funded groups can use local relationships and lived understanding to help people find accurate information and practical routes into the schemes.
