One of Glasgow’s best-known free cultural attractions has moved closer to reopening after the Scottish Government announced up to £14 million of conditional support for the People’s Palace and Winter Gardens.

The funding would contribute to a wider refurbishment package that already includes support from Glasgow City Council, Glasgow Life and the National Lottery Fund.

The People’s Palace has long told the story of Glasgow and its people. Bringing it back into public use would restore a major cultural space in the city’s East End while supporting jobs, visitors and nearby businesses.
