New seven-day bus reconnects Stirling’s eastern villages with the city

The C17 bus has launched as a two-year pilot linking Fallin, Throsk, Cowie and Plean with Stirling, including new Sunday travel and better hospital connections.

Four villages east of Stirling have a new seven-day bus link into the city after the council launched the C17 service as a two-year pilot.

The route connects Fallin, Throsk, Cowie and Plean with Stirling city centre and complements the existing F16 service. It also introduces Sunday buses between Fallin, Throsk and the city.

Passengers can make improved connections towards Forth Valley Royal Hospital via the number 38 service at Plean, giving people without a car another option for appointments as well as work, education and everyday journeys.

The pilot began on 24 August with a £100,000 and will be reviewed using passenger feedback. For small communities, a bus timetable can be surprisingly consequential: it can determine whether a job, hospital visit or Sunday trip into town is practical at all.
